Palisades Beach Invitational

Palisades Beach Invitational

Some major highlights came from Palisades Beach Invitational in SoCal this past weekend. Great talent and good match ups from Lynwood, Windward, Alemany, Troy, Chaminade, Palisades, and Valencia.

Finally good to see Washington commit Hannah Johnson of Alemany go to work in and around the paint, Breanna Calhoun had some nice dimes along with some razzle dazzle finishes to the basket, as well as Adaora Obi contributing on both ends of the floor for Alemany. Lynwood’s Jazmine Johnson is a fast guard that can get to the basket and Priscilla Lopez can shoot that thing. Chaminade had a nice supporting cast of a team that could score as well as their post player Devin Stanback caused some trouble in the paint. Troy had some nice guards in Kara Ito and Barbara Sitanggan who had a nice jumper and could get to the rack, along with Forward/Post Rebecca Lazuka. Palisades had Hydeia Duronslet. Valencia had (#2 missing info) and Kayla Konrad. Windward, who won the Beach Invitational had of course Jordin Canada who looked even more impressive finishing the jumper, creating for herself and for her team, playing on another level this season, Kristen Simon also held it down in the paint, her footwork is definitely on point when making moves to the basket, Emily Surloff still has the touch from 3 point land, she can shoot! Chelsey Gipson is also contributing on the offensive end for Windward, she looks more confident since the Cali Fall Showcase.

Special Thanks to Coach Torino of Palisades Charter High School and Bryan Cotton of HighDesertHoops.com for the footage.
