Session 2 HoopAholics

Another talented bunch that came into Session 2. Always exciting to see players come through to compete. Special Thanks to Full Throttle basketball and Krystal Henderson of University of Texas to come out and speak to the players.

Makenna Long 2020- has good moves to the basket, can score, and shoot the outside shot. Played very well, has a solid skill set with a nice all around game.

Nina Milliner 2020- very active player on both ends of the floor, has a good motor, brings energy when she’s on the floor. Defense is her specialty, but can score and attack the basket when the opportunity is there. Would like to see more of her shooting game, but played very well.

Alexis German 2020- Very crafty player, fun to watch, active on both ends as well, has solid court awareness at the pg position. Can shoot it and get to the basket. Impressed with her skill set and has a lot of potential.

Alexis Smith 2020- hard to stop her as she is fast with good ball handling skills. Unselfish player, liked how she distributed the ball to the open teammate. Solid I.Q for the game, see’s the floor, plays both ends equally well. Uptempo style player with a good motor. Definitely one to watch.

Jasmynne Brown 2020- Long and has great length to her. Was able to get her hand on several blocked shots. Needs to continue to get stronger, add some versatility to her game, tighten up the ball handling skills, and add some footwork down low.

Kendall McGruder 2021- Very impressive player, seemed to do a little bit of everything. Went inside and out on the offensive end, got on the floor and hustled on defense. Played hard, has a solid skill set with a lot of potential.

Kyla Davis 2020- Has good hands, reads the floor well, was able to shoot the mid-range and attack the basket. Alert and knew where the ball was, able to get some steals on the defensive end, made some nice passes. Needs to continue to tighten up the ball handling and continue to work on shooting consistently.

Tamia Flores 2020- very impressive, active on both ends of the floor, solid I.Q. runs the floor with great energy. Has a lot of potential.

Vasana Kearney 2021- Played more aggressive in the second session. Made some solid moves to the basket in the 1 on 1 drills. Has good size, needs to continue to attack the basket and work on shooting the ball consistently. Had a good second session showing.

Madison Cockrell 2022- Smart player that understands the game, good I.Q, makes good passes, alert and knows where to be on the defensive end, she was able to get some steals. Can shoot from outside and make good moves when attacking the basket. Played very well and has a lot of potential.

Maggie Hutka 2022- Impressed with the moves she made on the court. Was able to attack the basket and finish with contact or shoot from outside. Played with a lot of confidence and played very well. Needs to continue to tighten up the ball handling and work on defense.

Macy Sisco 2020- has great energy on both ends of the floor, hustle player, doesn’t quit, gets on the floor for loose balls, very active on both ends. Distributed the ball, ran the floor, and got the ball to the open teammate. Needs to continue working on having a consistent shot but played very well.

Katherine Renner 2020- distributed the ball well, got the ball to the open teammate. Needs to continue to work on quickness, get stronger and tighten up the ball handling.

Megan O’Neil 2020- made some nice shots, attacked the basket, ran the floor well. Needs to continue to tighten up the ball handling.

Aazayleah Pirtle 2020: attacked the basket, finished at the rim, was able to step out and shoot the outside shot, has good foot speed, always around the ball, was able to get some put backs.

Victoria Jordan 2021- has good size and hands, keeps the ball high, was able to get some deflections on the block shot. Has potential, needs to continue to work on footwork.

Victoria Flores 2023- very impressive young one with a lot of potential. Played with confidence, just attacked on offense, was able to shoot from outside, has solid ball handling skills.

Allie Lyda 2021- attacked the basket and was able to finish with contact. Ran the floor well, shot the mid-range in transition. Played good, understands the game, and had a solid showing. Needs to continue to work on ball handling and defense.

Mia Smith 2020- long with great length, was easily able to get her hand on some blocked shots. Played well,  needs to continue to get stronger and work on footwork.

Tia Harvey 2020- has good foot speed, fast in the open court, active on both ends of the floor. Attacks the basket, makes nice passes, gets it to the open teammate, hustles, has a good motor, understands the game. Has potential. Needs to work on having a consistent shot.

Ashley Sidman 2023- had a good showing, has some solid ball handling skills, was able to shoot the mid-range. Be more aggressive on the offensive end and attack the basket. Distributed the ball and made some good passes. Did a good job and played well.

Allysa Lafontaine 2020- has good size, plays physical, would like to see her attack the basket more and show off a mid-range or outside shot. Understands the game and makes good passes, runs the floor well. Want to see more versatility.

Z’Mya Cox 2021- Showed a solid skill set, can handle the ball, made some good passes, see’s the floor. Would like to see more attacking the basket and shooting. Played with confidence and played well.

Camryn Hill 2020- made some strong moves to the basket, plays physical, goes up strong to the basket, has good size. Played very well, understands the game, was able to make good passes to the open teammate.

Kennedi Burns 2020- had a nice strong drop step to the basket, physical, keeps the ball high, has good hands. Runs the floor well, active on both ends. Needs to continue to work on versatility in playing 1-3 positions.

Aubrey Lyda 2023- Played well, was able to knock down the open shot. Played with confidence and didn’t quit regardless of size. Needs to continue to be active on defense and get physical.
