Archbishop Mitty Takes Down St. Mary’s Stockton

In a very anticipated match up in NorCal’s Open Division, Archbishop Mitty faced St. Mary’s Stockton. Mitty with the advantage playing home, had more size, more senior representation and leadership. With both teams with the agenda of going to state, you can only crown one winner. Both teams got off to a fairly good start with Mitty in the lead 20-16 at the end of the 1st qtr. By half time St. Mary’s began to struggle connecting on the offensive end and defense broke down on a few occasions. Mitty just took advantage of St. Mary’s miscues and connected from inside and outside. They definitely had a good shooting night from outside. Much respect to St. Mary’s as they fought hard many times to come back but the deficit was too much. Mitty beat St. Mary’s 78-61.

Archbishop Mitty moves on to play Cardinal Newman at Santa Clara University on Saturday, March 18th at 6pm.

High Scorers Mitty: Madeline Holland 24pts, Krissy Miyahara 12pts, Tahlia Garza 12pts, and Haley Jones 12pts.

High Scorers St. Mary’s: Aquira DeCosta 18pts, Naje’ Murray 14pts, Neenah Young 10pts, and Ariel Johnson 10pts.
