Adidas LVL 3 Heats Up Vegas
by Velencia Jay
Las Vegas – Adidas graced Sin City with a load of competition and entertainment to conclude
the 2017 AAU Season. Adidas Summer Championships brought together one of the most
anticipated matchups between Ball brother LaMelo Ball and super player Zion Williamson, but if
you didn’t drop in at the Cosmopolitan to see what Adidas was brewing at the Chelsea Theatre
then you missed out on exclusive sneak peaks of turn-key innovations designed specifically for
Adidas LVL 3 was a hands-on interactive event for players 18 and under. The theatre was plastered with yellow, white and black highlighting the brand in every corner. The court – two large screens hanging in both corners, as well as one mega screen setup behind the DJ Booth at half court. LVL 3 included a dunk contest that featured an instant replay 360 dunk cam, live performances, skill drills and a MakerLab that allowed attendees to design on-court gear. Adidas also unveiled their Las Vegas Edition Crazy Explosives 17 at LVL 3, and gave players first dibs on purchasing.
How did they conclude this action-packed event? Nothing major, just performances by DJ Esco, D.R.A.M. and Grammy nominated producer MikeWillMadeIt. With support and appearances by Adidas ambassadors Damian Lillard, James Harden, and Andrew Wiggins it raises the question for women’s basketball, when are WNBA players going to begin making the connection with AAU girls basketball?
