Super 60 Charlotte Middle School Recap

A lot of talent during the middle school session at our first stop in Charlotte, NC. Impressed with the level of play from this group as many were young, talented, and full of potential. Special thanks to the players and parents and everyone involved: Omar Stewart (Elite I.Q. Hoops), Ashley Rivens, Chris Meadows (Momentum Skills), Amber White (Train Diverse), and Swain Basketball. Kymora Johnson 2023– Physical player, has good size, attacks the basket and finishes with contact. Showed off a good mid-range shot. A player to be on the lookout for.

Zamareya Jones 2024– Very energetic and high motor player. Can handle the ball, and gets to the basket, good court vision, above average player, with a high IQ, vocal leader.

April Hooks 2023– Good size, plays both ends and runs the floor, able to block shots, finish at the basket.

Mia Xerras 2023– Above average player that really showed off her game at the point guard position. Made the right pass, handled the ball, physical, very smart player, can shoot the mid-range and outside shot, even had a nice floater game. So much potential.

Ann Elizabeth Nichols 2022– Played well, runs the floor, moves without the ball. Was able to finis at the basket. Good defensive skills was able to get deflections.

Jordyn Latter 2023– She can definitely anticipate the pass, focused and alert on defense and was able to get steals. A good mid-range shooter, gets in there to rebound, plays with a lot of hustle. Active player with a good motor.

Jada Creech 2023– Very strong in the post, physical player, can rebound the ball, and push it up the floor. Displayed a nice mid-range jumper. She plays hard.

Savannah Lambert 2022– Made some good passes, nice assist player, see’s the floor, can handle the ball at the point position, and able to make stops on the defensive end, and plays hard.

Ace Austin 2025– Great ball handler, see’s the floor, makes good passes. Doesn’t force much, very high IQ, does not shy away from contact. So much potential from this one.

Nevaeh Farmer 2023– Has a quick first step, plays the passing lanes on defense, has a good mid-range game, can get to the basket and finish at the rim. Active on both ends and can handle the ball. Definitely showed out.

Betsey Burnett 2023– Shooter with a nice mid-range game, solid ball handler, hustles, active player on both ends of the floor.

Isabella Childs 2023– Strong and physical player, stays on the boards, gets put backs, has some nice moves around the basket. Very active player with a high motor and brings energy. Has a lot of potential.

LaKatie Piggee 2023– Played good defense, runs the floor and was able to grab rebounds and put backs. Even shot it well from outside.

Kristynn Knight 2022– She attacks and knows when she is open. Good ball handler, moves without the ball, see’s the floor and knows when to pass. Active on both ends and plays hard.

Anna Mathis 2023– A hard worker on the court, does the little things and hustles on every play. Focused and alert, plays the passing lanes in order to grab steals, gets on the floor for loose balls, has good energy and plays hard.

Amaya Glenn 2023– She has a quick off the dribble shot, see’s the floor, gets the ball to the open teammate. Plays hard, handles the ball very well and handles the pressure. Played well and had a good performance.

Journee McDaniel 2022– Very good size and length, blocks shots, gets physical, tough down low, attacks the basket, good hands and runs the floor. Has so much potential she played very well. A definite player to watch.

Taylor Easter 2023– Very strong mid-range game, good rebounder in the post, moves without the ball. Physical player that attacks the basket, active on both ends of the floor.

Lilian Booker 2023– Good foot work, finishes strong, with a nice mid-range game. Had a very good showing, plays hard and hustles on both ends of the floor.

Trinity Mathis 2023– Had a good showing and played hard, active on defense, contained her opponent, runs the floor, hustles, and plays through the foul when attacking the basket.

Samyha Suffren 2023– Very athletic and quick, can get to the basket easily and finish at the rim, had a consistent mid-range and outside shot on display as well. Nice all around game and plays both ends equally well. A lot of potential from this one.

Ilah Javellana 2022– Very good ball handler, makes some flashy passes, see’s the floor, does not back down from anyone, attacks the competition, can shoot it from deep, smart player and makes good decisions with the ball. Nice assist game! A player to watch.

Zakiyah Moss 2022– Strong and physical defensive player, good rebounder, moves without the ball. Active on both ends of the floor, able to get some defensive stops, and put backs around the basket. Crafty, can handle the ball, finishes at the rim, and attacks the basket. A player to be on the lookout for.

Kayla Basinger 2022– Showed that she could shoot the mid-range, made good entry passes to the post, active on both ends of the floor, contained her opponent, made good decision with the ball.

Aniyah Scales 2023– Very talented player that was active in every game. Got back on defense, played the passing lanes, grabbed several steals, made good passes, could just score inside and out. Has a lot of potential, look out for this player.

Riley Basinger 2023– She can shoot it, strong court vision, gets the ball to the open teammate, if she was open she took the opportunity to score, didn’t force it and played smart.

Jasmine Frierson 2024– Very strong defender, athletic and physical, does not shy away from contact, fights for loose balls, can handle the ball and attack the basket when its open. Above average player that plays both ends equally well. A definite player to watch for.

A’Bria Copeland 2023– Physical around the post, quick first step, with a good mid-range shot. Active player that plays hard, and hustles on both ends of the floor.

Maya Lester 2023– Makes good decisions with ball, takes the right shot (has a good shot selection), distributes the ball and makes the extra pass to the open teammate. Had a good showing and played very well. She can also shoot the 3 pretty well.

Kerah Engle 2023– Has good size, played very well on the defensive end getting block shots, she does the dirty work on defense and hustles. Always around the basketball and doesn’t quit on the play.

Janiya Byrd 2023– Quick and athletic point guard, high IQ, smart player that makes good decisions with the ball. Plays with a high motor and stays active on offense and defense. Had a good performance and played well.

Zoe Henderson 2023– Good size and length, good timing when blocking shots, good defender, runs the floor, good hands around the basket. Active on the boards, can score in the post.

Shakiya Nichols 2023– Athletic physical player, involved on both ends of the floor. Attacked the basket when it was open, made some good passes, didn’t force it, and had a good sowing.

Anala Nelson 2022– Solid all around hustle player, with active hands on defense, didn’t quit on the play, high motor, handles the ball well, makes the extra pass to the open teammate, unslefish and a tea, player. She can get to the basket and shoot the mid-range when the opportunity is there. A definite player to watch for.

Santanna Dennis 2022– Very strong physical player, fast and athletic, makes things happen, will either get to the basket, find the open teammate, or shoot from outside. Handles the ball well, would like to see more of her mid-range game as well. Played very well, will be watching this one develop over the next four years.
